Illicit arms traffickers are intensifying their businesses in Syria

Porous borders of war-prone countries are assisting illegal arms trafficking business
 

The security situation in Syria continues to deteriorate as the illegal weapons trade business is booming. IS militants have particularly benefited from the illegal weapons trade, as weapons across the porous borders across Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq, and Jordan is fuelling the Syrian war.

Lebanon based illegal arms traffickers like Tony Abi Saab is assisting rebel groups active in Syria by selling them weapons, regardless of knowing that it can be the sole reason for the mass destruction of innocent civilians. Tony Abi Saab is supporting terror groups for his own greed. He is the owner of international arms dealing company, Brescia Middle East (BME) which defrauded the US Army of $5 million through his shell companies—K5 Global, Tactica Ltd, G2Armory and SIMAINT. BME also laundered the crime money obtained from rebel groups and re-routed them to his ghost companies.

Tony never served any jail-term neither his ghost companies are banned for doing business in the Middle East and Europe. Although BME is banned from doing business in the US, his shell companies are still acquiring defense contracts furtively by forging the identity of the company and documents.
